What an emotional roller coaster! I recommend checking it out!

Geez Kayla Carson, what a whirlwind book this was. After reading the blurb and seeing your promotional pictures on Twitter, I was DOWN to read this book.

It definitely would be considered a trigger book, meaning if you are sensitive to certain situations,
this might not be the book for you.

I really enjoyed this book! See below for Amazon’s Blurb as well as my thoughts!

Book Blurb via Amazon

I met my husband Cal when I was nineteen years old.

He was sexy, powerful, and twelve years older than me.

He was everything that I never knew I was looking for. He was perfect. My life, was perfect.
Until it wasn’t.

As women, we’re drawn to men like Cal. The alpha male. Possessive, short tempered, and jealous to a fault. The need to show me that I was his, and his alone was enough to make me weak in the knees.

But as time went on, the traits that I was so attracted to, were the same traits that I became deathly afraid of.

My Thoughts <3

I enjoyed this book and feel as if Kayla Carson did a great job writing it! When I think about what makes a great romance book, I look at heart, steam, plot, and secondary characters. All of that was there for me in The Good Wife!

We meet Ava when she is a 19 years old college student working off her tuition in a bar. She is strong, but at the same time has a huge heart that was broken semi-recently by her long time HS boyfriend Shane. They broke up before they both went away to school. She is the definition of SERIES relationship kinda gal. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, but it makes her hard to get it on without catching feelings.

Cal is introduced right away as being a patron in the bar that Ava works at. She notices how attractive he is, even if he is a little older. It is all put out there when his friend calls him out for being 10 years older than her. He leaves his number for Ava in hopes that she will reach out to him. And thus the story really begins!!!

Cal seems like the PERFECT guy in most situations and Ava feels truly lucky to have him in her life. Their relationship is not super sudden, this book spans over a few years (which I REALLY liked). There are certain instances that make Ava’s friends extremely wary about Cal’s intentions and they warn her to look out for them. They were great and I loved how supportive they were with everything. Trying to help Ava make the right decisions and stepping in only if they felt that they needed to.

No spoilers for you, but definitely read this book to see how it all ends, there is HEA of course and some great heartfelt moments in between.
