Can a sweet baker and a royal hockey player work?

This book was great follow up after The Pilot and The Puck-Up. It stars Gracie, who is Joey’s sister and an absolute Southern sweetheart. She is a baker that makes some interesting cookies! It also stars Manning, a royal heir spare prince playing hockey that is basically hiding from everyone and running away from his responsibilities from his country. This book was a great read, see below more about it!

A hockey-playing prince, a most improper lady, and one accidental pregnancy…

When you’re an heir so spare that getting attacked by a shark is more likely than you ever wearing the crown, you’re only allowed certain liberties. Yet still, those liberties can bite you in the ass.

Good thing I’m such a charming devil.

Even then, I’ve been banished to America for a year under the pretense of playing professional hockey while my father cleans up my latest mess. But trouble follows me wherever I go. Generally trouble of the beautiful female variety, and Gracie Diamonte is no exception. Or possibly, she’s the best exception.

Until the dinosaur suit. The cookie incident. And the accidental pregnancy.

Of course I’ll do the right thing.

Just as soon as I solve that pesky problem of my royal betrothal.

I’m about to be the biggest scandal to rock my country and there’s a good chance my father may throw me to the sharks after all. The funny thing is I’ve heard that raising children may not be so different from swimming with the sharks.

So no matter how you look at things I am Royally Pucked.

My Thoughts <3

This again was a sweet story, I absolutely love Manning and Gracie. She is exactly what his tight-ass self needed.

Gracie is a sweet Southern backer, but also a firecracker! She grew up mainly with Joey watching out for her, which she loves her, but never really felt as if she was able to be her own person. Even though she is the nicest person that you could meet, she had a learning disability that made her always feel stupid. She is far from it, but she was definitely judged as being so when she was growing up and it affected her self image.

Manning is a royal prince that is trying to not let his world expload. He had some crazy relationships over in his country and basically ran away to America to try to stay out of trouble and play hockey, which he really enjoys. He loves the sport, his teammates, and the freedom that it gives him. He always has a smile on his face, which is actually kinda creepy, but it never really reaches his eyes. He is far from the playboy hockey playing prince that his persona lets on.

Gracie and Manning give in to the heat that is between them and end up having sex in the beginning of the book. They both don’t really think anything of it and go their separate ways until Gracie takes a test and sees those 2 pink lines letting her know that she is pregnant. She goes straight to tell Manning who struggles with what to do. He wants to do the right thing, but at the same time his world does not let people make their own decisions and does he really want that for his child? Gracie does not care to be a part of his world, but she knew it was the right thing to let him know what is going on. It also does not make it easy that Manning is betrothed to someone back in his country all due to political reasons.

This is a great slow burn for Gracie and Manning and they truly make each other better people. The heart between them is so beautiful to see and of course the comedy from the secondary characters are ALWAYS great. I love how we see more from Ares (Zeus’s twin brother) here and get a little deeper into what makes him tick.

This is a great story that you should read right now!
