My Thoughts <3
This was a fairly short read and I went into it not really knowing much about the series, even though it says it is a standalone and you CAN read it as one, I recommend starting at the beginning of the series first to make sure that you truly understand what is happening in the subplot behind the romance of PK and River!
I did like the sweet but pretty steamy romance between Phoenix and River, they were so cute both widely attracted to the other but thinking that they could not possibly want them. It was a little hard to connect to them though because the other part of the story where she finds her mom’s journals is not just a subplot but almost like an alternative one because it stands out a little bit more than PK and River.
I really did like the journal entries, they were suspenseful in trying to tell their tell and they sucked my right in but by enjoying those I almost felt as if I was cheating on the romance that was happening around the journal entries.
I did enjoy this quick read and I will go back to the beginning of the series, I just recommend you guys to start there first!
