What Happens When a Military Man Tangles w/A Sexy Criminal?

The wait for this book was absolutely worth it. This is one of my favorite books by Pippa Grant since The Pilot and the Puck-Up- so absolutely wonderful! We have seen glimpses of Eloise in the books before, basically enough to be afraid of her and we have had a few snippets of Rhett during Stud in the Stacks. All I can say is this military man is exactly what this crazy chaotic girl needs!

A SEAL / Best Friend’s Brother / Robin Hood in Cyberspace Romantic Comedy

For anyone who’s ever been on the receiving end of an unsolicited dick pic…

He has the muscles of Adonis, an ego bigger than the sun, and a very clear desire to get back in my pants. Which would be fantastic if he weren’t a SEAL and I wasn’t a criminal.

Although, I prefer the term avenger.

I’m a hacktivist, cleaning up the cesspool of cyberspace one scam artist and troll at a time, and I sometimes bend a few rules to get justice done.

He’s a military man with abs of glory, sworn to uphold the letter of the law no matter its shortcomings. And if he’d known who—or what—I was, I doubt he would’ve banged me at my best friend’s wedding reception.

Or come back for more.

Which is why he’s now the only thing standing between me and one very pissed off internet troll who’s figured out where I live.

I’m pretty sure he’ll get me out of this alive—and quite satisfied, thank you very much—but I’m also pretty sure this mission will end with me in handcuffs.

And not the good kind of handcuffs.

The Hero and the Hacktivist is a romping fun romance between a SEAL and a twisted hacker by day, drummer by night, complete with epic klutziness, terrible leg warmers, and an even worse phone virus gone wrong. This romantic comedy stands alone with no cheating or cliffhangers and ends with a fabulously fun happily ever after.

My Thoughts <3

OMG, JUST YES! Those were exactly my thoughts when the book was sent as an ARC to me, also when I read the first few pages, also when I was half way through the book, and also my thoughts right after I finished reading.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK!

Eloise is a hacktivist heiress that is a huge BADASS. She is basically Batman, if Batman fought crime in cyber space. She does not like people that make fools of others and rights those wrongs by basically ruining their lives then. She is band mates with Sia, Parker, and Willow and have known them for 5 years, but even so they can’t actually say that they KNOW her. Eloise is odd as hell, but it is refreshing that she marches to the beat of her own drum. She has a reason for doing this and pushing others away, though we really don’t know why in the beginning.

Rhett is a Navy Seal that had a mission go horribly wrong and his team was disassembled. He is currently working for the Navy recruitment office and is so bored he wants to bang his head against the wall. They end up hooking up at Knox and Parker’s wedding when Eloise asks him if he wants to bang, and he was like sure why not.

One and done and Eloise is sure she will never see him again because duh, he’s a Seal and won’t be around… which is not the case… AT ALL! Weeks pass and Eloise is like a spark that gives Rhett the excitement that he craves. She admits (to herself) that she wants him too, but a lot of crazy is going on with her life so she is going to make him work for it. She also doesn’t understand why he likes her or seems to find her endearing.

The story really starts getting good when Eloise gets in trouble and Rhett wants to be a hero, actually he LIVES for it. In fact one of my favorite scenes depicts this, which you will just have to read the book to see the context of it. Trust me, you will get why it is one of my favorites when you read it- SO HOT… in fact here is a sneak of it:

‘”Do you need a fucking hero?” he growls in my ear.
I whimper.

Seriously, is that not some hot stuff? I did not even give away the super juicy details! Not gonna lie, I am fanning myself just thinking about it!

Regardless, this book is AMAZING and you really need to check it out. It has it all- danger, sexy time, romance, comedy, and some really off the wall characters which just brings it all home! We see a softer side of both Eloise and Rhett combined with the crazy and it is a hodgepodge of awesomeness mixed together.

PS: I received this book for free as an ARC in return for my honest opinion
