I have only read two of the books in this set so far, but man are they freaking great! Please see below for my reviews on them!
Merciless Knave by Esme Devlin
What do you do when you know your future at 8 years old and you know that the future is bleak and there is no hope? You try to run away from it because freedom is the only thing that you can look forward to. This is Michelle’s outlook. Since she was 8 years old, she knew she was essentially bought by Tommy’s father and they will be married at 18. Who would freaking want that? Their freedom and future gone in the blink of an eye? Not Michelle, that’s for sure!
This story is not your traditional romance or even bully romance. There is a lot beneath the surface in the story as well as the characters included in it. You want to root for Michelle to make a change but then you also get to know Tommy and find out that this guy might not be as bad as he seems, might actually be one of the good ones. Y’all I highly recommend reading this book to see how everything plays out, you won’t believe it! I give this book a 4.5 outta 5 and look forward to reading more by the author!
Vicious Knight by Nicole Cypher
Holy snaps does this book directly correspond with our main man in the book, he definitely is vicious, but not knowing what love is, you can kinda see why. He remains that way until one day where his world implodes and someone tattles. What should he do with her and why is she standing her ground against him? Even more, why does that excite him?
This book was excellent, I loved reading it and seeing it in dual POVs. This has elements of a traditional bully romance but really goes deep into why things are happening and how everything plays out. This book is not all sunshine and roses, even at the end, but it does play out in a wonderful way and I definitely want to check out more from Nicole Cypher. I can officially say that I am a fan!! 5 outta 5 stars from me!
