Great book by Emily Goodwin! I have read her dystopian romance series, but not one of her contemporary romances, and was pleasantly surprised with how good this book was– I give it a 4.5 outta 5 stars!
Harper is a single mother of twin girls and it is hard. She gives everything for them, but living paycheck to paycheck is always a struggle, but she does it and does a freaking amazing job with it. When she gets a promotion to work under Alex, she believes he is a jerk and has a stick up his butt even though he has had everything always handed to him. Let’s just say that everything is NOT what it seems and there is way more under this guy’s layers.
I love Harper, she is seriously awesome and I am a huge fan. It takes just a bit longer to warm up to Alex, but with his POV, it definitely helps. I also liked how the story progressed, but I kept looking down at how much I had left and was like wait, is everything going to be figured out in time?! Guess what lovely readers— THERE IS A CLIFFHANGER and it is shocking!!! I am not a huge fan of those and at least like to be warned beforehand, which is why this is listed as 4 stars and not 5, but it was amazing up until that point and I recommend you checking it out!
