This book was SO worth the wait! We first met Camden in Tate and Declan’s story in Book 2 of the Civil Corruption Series- Defile. He was introduced as Tatum’s best friend and literally the person that picks her up after Declan destroyed her, of course he sounds like a great guy! He IS a great guy, but he definitely has a few kinks in the bedroom, which there is NOTHING wrong with if he was not in the public’s eye all of the FREAKING time. Being a famous singer has really been weighing down on Camden because he cannot even walk down the street without being accosted.
We find out a little tidbit of info about Camden, he does not like vanilla sex, it just does not rev his engines. He has a one night stand with a chick from the bar and does the one thing that pisses off a crazy lady- say that he MIGHT call but doesn’t. Shoot, he did not even say that he WOULD call. Her being a classy lady gave him a few weeks to rectify that, but when he does not call her, she took the secret video of their time together, that happens to be a bit rough, and sends it out….
“I like to fuck a little rougher than the average man. That doesn’t make me a goddamn criminal in need of reformation.”
Even though he is definitely bashed wrongly, that does not matter to the public, they see him as a MAJOR pervert.
Enter in Sutton. Sweet, plain, hiding, ice-queen Sutton. Boy has this girl been put the wringer. She did not have the best childhood, but has the MOST supportive sister in the universe and that does make up for a little of it. Other than her sister and her boss, Tatum, she really does not have much interaction with anyone else. She is hiding herself, wanting to remain invisible from everything and everyone.
Tatum, not only being Camden’s friend but also his manager, decides that Camden needs a good girl in his life to stop the negative press against him and shine him as a relationship kind of guy. She also sees how much Sutton is hiding from herself and decides that the two of them would be exactly what could fix this issue… and would perhaps be good for each other too! And thus the story really begins….
This story is sweet and OH SO SEXY. It is a story about learning to truly trust someone and let them into your life even after you have been hurt in the past.
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.
