SM Soto, your creations are amazing, terrifying, and heartbreaking. Everything about Kiss Me With Lies drew me in from the cover to the blurb to the ACTUAL book. Even though it did not click that this was the beginning of a duet until I opened my ARC copy on my kindle, I 100% still would have signed up to help promote this book. I will admit I am sitting right now acting like a child that needs to use the potty because I am so antsy about reading the 2nd part of the duet. Talk about a CLIFFHANGER!!!!
But anywho, about the story….. I thought Kiss Me With Lies was delicately and intricately laid out for the reader to know what is going on in the world created. The main character Mackenzie is a conundrum to where one moment she is completely broken and the next she is sucking it all up and a straight up baller. She is a bit wishy washy for me, but it makes sense with the story line and I am SUPER intrigued to know what is going to happen next. Not to mention that the girl has had a bit of a traumatic life. Now Baz, that man is pretty much sex on a freaking stick. Look in the dictionary for the world Alpha and you will find his picture (and when you do, let me know because I wanna see this guy!!!) and it is SO FREAKING HOT! The whys and hows about how everything plays out makes sense and builds to some extremely shocking revelations and questions that we need the 2nd book to answer, hence why I want it right now!
All in all if you are a fan of dirty and dark romances that draw you in right away, this is a book that you need to check out. I hate cliffhangers (because I am nosy and want to know what happens) and I am am positively drooling for the next one, but know that it is totally worth it to go ahead and read it because it IS that good! 5 outta 5 from me!
