My Thoughts <3
This is my first book by the author and I enjoyed reading it.
Nick is a DEA agent that went deep undercover for a 1% rough MC for 2 years. He finally gets a break in the case, not exactly the circumstances that he wanted, and is pulled out awaiting the trial to put the bad guys in jail. The news is painting him as a hero and he is worried that this is to put him high on a pedestal and then let him fall further when the defense showcases just WHAT he had to do when he was gaining the trust of the club.
Savannah has had EXTREMELY bad luck. Her ex-boyfriend also just happened to be a member of the same MC that Nick cracked, but they were not around when it all went down so he is still walking free. Free to knock her around any time that he thought was warranted. She finally gets enough saved up to be able to walk free of him, only thing is he is not taking no too well.
When Savannah’s ex confronts her in a coffee shop she literally falls into Nick’s path when he is the only one to be able to help her out. This starts their journey together.
The chemistry between the two was apparent even when she had been used as a punching bag. I know that their situations threw them together, but I still felt as if their relationship was extremely rushed and there was a lot of hero worshiping on her side and it all just seemed to fall into place. This is my only drawback on the book and it was not even that huge of a deal, but just seemed a bit rushed.
4 outta 5 stars from me and the intrigue and ‘what’s gonna happen next’ was definitely in play. I definitely enjoyed this book!
