On the morning of her 16th birthday, Hollis Timewire receives the worst possible news. She can’t become a citizen of the world. She’s a Diseased One.
Born with a biomarker that bestows dangerous, brain-altering powers, Hollis is forced to hide underground with other Diseased Ones, who believe that the government falsified history to cover up their genocide.
Now Hollis must discover the truth, and is willing to risk anything, including her powers, to go back home.
My Thoughts <3
I LOVED THIS!!! I am always a fan of dystopian young adult romance series and The Diseased Ones has a super interesting concept and drew me in from the very beginning. I cannot go into a lot of details because that would spoil it for you, but I will say the blurb is SPOT ON! When Hollis finds out that she is not the person she thought she had been for the past 16 years her head is spinning and all she can think about is finding out the truth. But who can she trust when she feels everyone is just giving her half answers and everything is upside down?! I will give you a tip though- there is a cliffhanger and it is A BIG ONE!!!
All in all, if you are a fan of dystopian young adult books, this should definitely be on your TBR. I give it 4.5 stars and really cannot wait to see what comes next!
PS: I want to give a huge thanks to Danielle Harrington and Xpresso Book Tours for allowing me an advanced copy of this book to read and review!
