My Thoughts <3

Brace yourself y’all because there are 14 dark fairy tale romances in this collection and I have notes on all of them! I can tell you that I definitely had my favorites, but overall this is an amazing anthology for any dark romance lover that also has a fairy tale retelling spin on it!

Council of Seven
THIS BOOK! Just wow, talk about an interesting take on Snow White… like REALLY interesting. I would totally be down to read a continuation of this because it was suspenseful and HOT!

Osbourne
This is not your typical Robin Hood spin off! I absolutely loved it! Can Mary show her hardened and loyal husband that things are very wrong in Nottingham and need to be fixed?

Saving Reli
This was a dark and twisted Cinderella tale, like super dark, I definitely was not expecting how everything went down. John is a LOT older then Reli, but comes back into her life at the exact right moment, almost like a prince rescuing a princess…

Prince of Ruin
This is an Aladdin retelling and those these are all super short stories, this one definitely felt as if there needs to be more and is only the introduction to a story. I enjoyed it, but want more!

Captured in Underland
Let’s just say things move fast in this book and quickly. Allison (Take on Alice in Wonderland) is not your typical Alice, but boy does this girl have a backbone. It was definitely an interesting read and I liked how everything was shaped.

I’m Too Deep
It took a second for me to realize what fairy tale this one was, I am assuming it was a spin off of Lady and the Trap. It seemed as if there were a few different things going on that were warring with each other but it sucked me in. Surprising long slow burn, but a good story!

Catch Me If You Can
Not sure if this as modeled on a fairy tale, but we definitely have the innocent princess and jaded bodyguard…. just going to have to read it to see what happens! 😉

Web of Rejection
Wowwwww, twists and turns… that’s all I’m going to say, anything else will spoil the surprise. A LOT of bombs though!

A Beast By Any Other Name
Oh my gosh. This is so my favorite!! So much intrigue, trying to figure out exactly what is going on. Is everything what it really seems like.. let me tell you.. it isn’t! My head was spinning and it ended so suddenly but does have a link to continue reading. I totally read the rest of it and you guys will not be disappointed. Great story!!

Princess and the Capo
This was an interesting take on a second chance childhood friendship/relationship opportunity and kept my attention, but it’s shine was taken a bit because it was smack dab in between my 2 favorite stories in the book.

King
I see this is Ravens first book, holy smokes I am blown away. Granted it’s just a snippet, but it is officially my 2nd favorite book in the anthology. It is a retelling of The Lion King set in the MC world. I definitely will want the full book in my hands as soon as possible!

Slumberland
Oh my gosh, I definitely did not see that bomb coming, the author did a great job of dropping in the mother of all bombs right when we were getting comfortable in the story. All I can say is DUN DUN DUN!!!!

Bound
This is a very dark version of Rapunzel but with Daniel who has been hidden away from the world. This guy was never able to make decisions for himself, until something happens that changes everything…

Innocence Lost
This was a good story, but I would have liked it more if it was more drawn out because there is a lot going on and seems to have 2 stories going on in one. The only other thing I will say is that all 4 of the characters will have their worlds are turned upside down…

Again, I totally dug this anthology. I liked certain books over the others, but with 14 different books, that makes sense. All in all this is definitely a 5 star collection and recommend it to all my fellow dark romance lovers!

PS: Thank you to all of the authors and Give Me Books PR for allowing me an advanced copy of this anthology to read and review honestly!
