Award Winning Author, Lydia Michaels, enters the world of DARK ROMANCE with an unforgettably suspenseful psychological thriller!
IT’S GOING TO HURT…
Callan MacGregor might speak with the eloquence of a Scottish poet, but a hard life has turned him into a merciless killer. With a first-hand account of hell, he trusts nothing and no one but the hollow hurt tortured into his bones. Sacrificing all, he must escape Scotland to survive.
Emery Tanner is captivated—to the point of obsession—by the stunning Scotsman tending bar at the Imperial Hotel. With as many dark secrets as he has scars, she hungers to know every exquisite inch of him, but her shy nature leaves her tongue-tied. Despite her sense that innate kindness rests beneath his savage surface, Callan MacGregor is a man to approach with caution—if not fear.
When tragedy strikes and Emery’s world is shattered, she learns just how ruthless Callan can be. Violence has shaped his soul and love has always led to loss in both their broken lives. But as secrets are exposed, they find truth within the hurt and awaken a desire to become whole once more.
WARNING: HURT is a Dark Romantic Thriller and contains multiple scenes of violence. It is not intended for sensitive audiences or readers under the age of eighteen.

My Thoughts <3
What an excellent read and such an legit name. The author mixes in past and present while weaving two tales that are somehow related as well as not.
Callan McGregor knows his share of hurt. Growing up on the rough streets of Glasglow he used his fists to be able to provide for his brother and sister. They are surviving until one night tragedy happens and it rocks Callan’s life more than he will ever know. After escaping Scotland and coming to the US he meets Emery Tanner, who is completely pure. He keeps his distance from her for years not wanting her to see his evil, until a night changes her forever. Can Callan be the one to get her past her tough time even knowing that he is a monster himself?
This read is raw, emotional, and graphic. If you have an issue with triggers, it might not be the best for you. Anyone else who loves to read dark romances that lean towards the twisted side, this is definitely up your alley.
I give this 5 HUGE stars out of 5 and cannot wait to see how the series progresses, I know that I will be on the lookout for the next one.
PS: I received this book for free but am voluntarily and honestly reviewing it.
