This book is going to take your heart and soul and break it right open, then when you think you cannot handle it anymore it fills it back up with so much hope. As the first book in a series, it always sets the tone of the series and I have to say that the Fragile Hearts Series is definitely going to be emotional and heartbreaking.
Lilah seems normal, a lovely lady that has a great boyfriend and job, but is everything what it seems?
Damian shows his brokenness on the outside so that you know what comes up, can these two overcome their scars?
All in all, I DID like this book and if you are a fan of emotionally haunting reads that make you feel, this is definitely one that you need to check out! There was one little thing that bothered me a bit, but it is kind of a spoiler and listed below… YOU ARE WARNED!!
SPOILER:
[The only thing that kind of turned me off this book is that I felt as if the physical relationship between Lilan and Damian moved extremely fast. Especially for a victim of verbal and physical abuse. I would have liked to see it move just a smidge longer. It seemed as if it as supposed to be like that, but I do not believe it met that mark]
