Ryan Shea has sworn off men.
After her last relationship imploded in front of her eyes, she decides to take a break from swimming in the dating pool … possibly forever. The brilliant computer whiz loses her brain when it comes to love, and jumping feet first burns her every time.
Without a home, or much of a clue where life is headed, taking a trip back to the small town of Fawn Hill to stay with her best friend seems like the only option.
Except it puts Ryan directly in the path of the one man she can’t fall for. Fletcher Nash reminds her too much of the dark past she’s always run from; his demons are the things of her nightmares. And it’s no help that, when he looks at her, she feels as if Fletcher is the one person who truly understands.
Fletcher Nash vowed not to fall in lust.
Five years of sobriety, and he hasn’t broken the chastity promise yet. Not that it had to keep for this long … he’s well over the normal year addicts are told not to get involved.
But, aside from a busy schedule and trying to chase his dream of becoming a full-time artist, he has no intentions of committing to a woman until she is the one.
Why is it, then, that sassy, city girl Ryan Shea comes dangerously close to resembling the exact woman he could break that promise for? Like sand through his fingers, there is no way she’ll stay put … but his heart just won’t listen.
They pledged not to love anyone until it was the real thing.
So what happens when two people terrified of falling head-over-heels, actually do?
My Thoughts <3
Quick Note: If you have not meet the Nash brothers by Carrie Aarons, I recommend starting from the beginning because these are standalones, but they all build on each other.
I absolutely love the Nash brothers, I swear Carrie Aarons just keeps getting better and better with these that once I finish one book I say definitely that that brother is my favorite… until I read the next. I totally thought that Forrest was going to continue to be my favorite forever, that is until I was in Fletcher’s head.
Falter is Fletcher’s story. He is the baby Nash brother and this guy has been through hell and back with his addiction to alcohol. This book is so real going into his struggles on a daily basis, just because it has been 5 years does not mean that it gets easier. I fell more and more in love with this man with each page I read.
Fletcher sees an understanding in Ryan’s eyes when he looks at her and that scares him. She is a wanderer and this is his home, but it only seems temporary for her. Can he risk his 5 year sobriety for a chance of what might could be?
Falter is a beautiful story of finding the person that understands you better than anyone else in the world and doing everything in your power to keep that. It is not told behind rose-tinted glasses; it is real, it is emotional, but it is absolutely worth it.
I think you can tell by now, but I LOVED this book and this series. You 100% NEED to read it! I could not think of a better ending for these amazing brothers!
PS: Thank you to the author for generously supplying an ARC to me, I hope you enjoy my honest review!
