My Thoughts
Do you love Rom Coms that hit you right in the feels and fall in love with the two main characters? Well let me tell you if that is the case, YOU HAVE TO READ THIS BOOK! I am a huge fan of Claire Kingsley and this book does NOT disappoint at all!
Everly is a complete dating disaster. She has the worst luck with men but is one of the happiest people that you would ever meet. She might not have luck in the men department, but she is extremely successful in her work life. Everly has been assistant to Shepherd for the past 3 years and lasted years longer than any of her predecessors.
Shepherd is a hard man to understand, mostly because he does not let people in. His subordinates think that he is a robot incapable of feelings and human interactions. It does not help that he does not acknowledge those around him, even Everly who is like a bright star in the office.
Well that changes pretty suddenly guys! Shep needs a HUGE favor after being put in a super awkward position and calls on Everly to help him out of this hole. She is a little taken aback by the request but she needs a favor as well, so it works out perfectly, right?
The secondary characters were excellent from supportive best friends, loving siblings, and a dad with a heart of gold, these people definitely help with flow of the story. Also, the steam between these two is off the freaking charts as well, pretending to be lovers and together is bound to have some after effects, so they can just attribute their attraction to that, right?
These two might have started into this under false pretenses but what happens when it starts to become real and Everly also gets to know the robot-like Shep and find out who exactly he is.
Side Note, let me tell you that this guy is one of the best male leads that I have read in a RomCom in a while. I am definitely swoony thinking about him after finishing the book.
READ THIS RIGHT NOW– I highly recommend it and know that you will not be disappointed.
