I hate her. I want Dahlia to pay. Tynewood is my town, and she doesn’t belong here. While rage fuels me, my blood burns with desire. I want vengeance, and I’ll get it.
No. Matter. What.
We’re on opposite sides of the battlefield — a poised flower, a raging warrior, and a mountain of secrets between us.
I knew he was bad news the moment I laid eyes on him. Anger and lust swirl together when he looks at me, but I don’t know why. War has commenced, and as secrets unfold, it looks like the battle has only just begun. He wants to hurt me. He loves to see me cry. What Ares Lancaster doesn’t realize is, I’m not afraid of the darkness inside him.
Lies. Revenge. Bloodshed.
When war comes to a head, nobody is safe from the destruction it leaves in its wake.

My Thoughts <3
Wow, wow, WOW! How is this the first book that I read by Dani Rene?! All I know is that I want to read all of her other ones right now! The blurb sucked me in right away and was lucky enough to receive an advanced copy of this to read and review. The blurb does not even give this book justice, it was darkly delicious and I am so intrigued to see what happens next in the series!
The sins of the father always passes down to the next in line, but what happens when those sins are even more than you realize? Dahlia has moved home to live with her grandmother after being gone from the interesting town of Tynewood that is ruled by a heavy hand, and they are not happy to see her. Ares has so much hate inside of him, but there is a thin line between hate and love and seeing that play out was so freaking good!
All in all, this book has it all- mystery, darkness, war, and hidden deep down- love. The characters were awesome, some major bombs were thrown, and though there was a LOT of information and people to keep straight, everything flowed smoothly. I am definitely a fan if you like dark new adult romances with a hint of power- you should definitely check out this series!
