Gideon Masters is a wild god.
Worshipped for his bold paintings as much as his divine looks, he’s the art world’s biggest celebrity. Under normal circumstances our paths would never cross.
But when his extracurricular activities threaten a high-profile business deal, I’m forced to take him as a client. My task: keep him out of the tabloids for six months.
But Gideon doesn’t want a publicist. He wants a new muse.
As I fall deeper under his sinful spell, a lifetime of secrets and carefully crafted lies unravels. Too late, I remember the truths they protect:
I am already someone’s masterpiece.
And the original artist wants me back.

My Thoughts <3
Holy smokes, this was my first book by LM Halloran and I freaking love her dark mind!
This book is NOT easy, but with dark duets that makes them even better reads! Be warned my dears, there is a pretty big cliffhanger coming, but good news is the next book is out soon so there is not too much wait time.
Deidre and Gideon are two people that you would not think would be each other’s types in a million years. Deidre is in company PR and helps companies keep their brands out there. Her story of how she gets into it does not really make since in this first book, but we also do not know all of her story in this book either. She is extremely cutthroat and ruthless to get what she wants, but she does not make herself out to be that way in her outward appearance to others. She meets Gideon because one of her clients is his father and is hoping not to have any bad press, ie his wayward son. Gideon is an artist and truly does not care what anyone thinks of him, which is pretty freaking cool if you ask me.
Gideon shows Deidre the mask she has been wearing because of her past is not her and it was more so the mask she has been hiding behind because her past is completely awful. This poor girl really only has one person in her life that she cares about- her little brother.
This book is more of a delve into her backstory and starting a “thing” with Gideon. I call it a thing because relationship is too loose of a word. These two broken people start seeing themselves as human in each others eyes and it is absolutely gorgeous.
But of course we cannot have that, can we? That is too quick of a story and definitely not a duet type story. A huge piece of Deidre’s past comes popping up and threatens to break it all and what happens next starts something that is huge.
The heat between Gideon and Deidre is absolutely on fire and I love the concept of sin being portrayed as something not necessarily evil. I would have liked a little more development between the two of them, but it was not necessarily because these two are definitely two sides of a coin and it is evident that they need each other.
I give this a 4.5, I absolutely loved the story. I already read the second, so I know what is going to happen and you should WANT to as well!! I highly recommend this duet!
PS: I received this book as an ARC in return for my honest review.
