Penelope Bloom Shares a RomCom in the Most Hilarious Way!

I was super excited for this book after reading His Banana and Her Cherry and loving both of them, and if you guys are new to this blog, I absolutely LOVE books in a series and having supportive characters in there. This book does not disappoint at all either- It is a great RomCom with some great characters!
See below for the book blurb and my thoughts on the story as well!

Having a hot boss isn’t complicated or confusing at all,
Said no one ever…
But all I have to do is resist for a few months.
Come January, I’m flying to Paris to chase my dream of being an artist,
Too bad I can’t have my treat and eat it, too.

I forgot to mention… My hot boss was also my high school crush. Sort of.
First, I wanted to crush him with gooey affection.
In the end, I just plain wanted to crush him.
Now he’s back, and he might as well have “do not touch” printed on his chest.
One tiny question: would it count if I didn’t use my hands?

Let me answer my own question. Yes, Emily, you raging horndog, it counts. Besides, my dream is practically waiting for me like a perfectly wrapped, shiny little package if I can just behave. I’d be an absolute idiot to risk that, and I have a long, proud history of not being an idiot to protect.

Unless it’s kind of like when you do really well in class all semester so you can afford to flunk a test at the end. Three months is a long time, and if he’s the one giving me the big, fat, dirty “F”, it does add a little dose of temptation to the equation.

But all I have to do is one quick job for him. A few posters and a few props for a big Halloween party that he’s hosting.

Then I just walk away from his dreamboat eyes and perfect body, grab a plane, and forget about all the beautiful children we could’ve squeezed inside our white picket fence.

MY THOUGHTS:

First of all, this book was legit LOL funny! The leading lady, Emily, is sweet, artsy, and expecting to start her dream in a few months. Fate is a bia-tch though and wanted to laugh in her face at that thought though. We met our main man Ryan in Her Cherry because he worked with Hailey at the bakery. He is super hot, but automatically friend zones all girls that he meets because he knows that finding love would not be a good thing for him, because all of his relationships turn out HORRIBLY wrong.

Ryan meets Emily through William a mutual friend-ish of both of them. Ryan wanted to have an artist help him with the decorations of the Halloween party he is throwing. (Side Note: He lovesss Holidays, like all of them, and it is adorably sexy and cute and everything nice in the world!) They both seem to have a vague recollection of meeting each other before, but Emily figures it out faster that she knew Ryan from their small HS in which his GF was a huge douche and ended up hurting Emily and Ryan took the blame.

Since Ryan is not looking for love because it would be disastrous and Emily is about to move away to Paris for her dream job in a few months, they couldn’t start anything right? Basically they both knew that they were not interested in finding “the one” but also knew they had crazy hot chemistry and something was definitely happening to them during their “non dates”. So what happens next?

The majority of the story is working up to the fact when Emily and Ryan were going to finally seal the deal, but I liked that it kept me guessing on when it was going to happen.  The events that happen before that time are absolutely amazing and really make the story a RomCom. Let’s just say the supporting characters are GREAT: Natasha and clean cut Bruce, sweet Hailey and psycho William, a legit scary best friend, a lovable but crazy jock roommate, and obviously Grammy! I liked Ryan and Emily, but the supporting characters and their antics are what really interested me most about this book!

I do recommend reading this if you would like a laugh, it will not disappoint.
As always, it is on Kindle Unlimited, why would you not read it?
